New Swing set

Only in Arizona, do you set up a swing set in the month of Febuary so the kids have enough time to play on it before the hot months roll in.
We had planned on getting the kids a swing set later in the year but my parents called us from Sams club saying they found a deal we couldnt pass up.
We ended up buying it on the spot to the delight of our children.
It took Alex, dad and brother 2 full weekends and a few scattered hours through out the week before we got this thing done. All out of the box and ready to go!!!

Thanks for all you help Eric!!!! I got a picture of your whole body this time. Just not your legs from the pinata pics at Christmas.

My dad all balled up at the top.

The finished product!!! the kids love it. Notice there are no kids in the picture......thats because they are back in the house pooped out from their day at play.

Christmas Eve

It has become tradition that we spend Christmas Eve over at my parents house.
We had a fabulous dinner, played Christmas songs with chimes, watched a Christmas movie, broke a pinata and then grandma tops off the night with a Christmas story.
Ever since the girls were little it has been tradition that we let the kids open up the gift from Mommy and Daddy on Christmas Eve. And every year its the same thing......Pajamas!
You think the kids would catch on but it cracks me up every year listening to the girls discuss what they think they are going to get. And then a little disappointed when they realize its just clothes. Hopefully they catch on at some point because its never going to changeHere they are opening their gift thinking they are going to be a Littlest Petshop adoption center and a easy bake oven candy maker.

NOPE........Just Pajamas. Darn!

Brian and Jennifer had taken the girls shopping the day before and thought it would be fun to break a pinata on Christmas Eve. The girls were so excited to do this. They got to pick out the Pinata and named it Mexico T because that's what the tag on the bottom said. They talked about Mexico T all day long and couldn't wait to break into it.

Christmas Lights

AHHH,Christmas.......The most wonderful time of the year. I love Christmas time. I Love everything about it, the spirit, the smell, the christmas music, and everything seems to taste better at Christmas time. But with it all, the craziness starts.
Its December 23rd and we are finally taking the kids out to see Christmas lights.
We started off the night headed to Zoo lights but once we arrived it looked as though the whole city of Phoenix had arrived at the zoo the same time we did. We turned around and thought we would have better luck at the Temple lights.
Once we got to the Temple it was also pretty busy but it was so nice to walk around and see all of the lights. My favorite are the Palm trees with Angle wings on them.Alex's mom came to spend Christmas with us. She came from New York so she is really enjoying the weather. What we think is cold, is perfect weather for her.
Its hard to tell but those are Palm trees with angle wings.

The kids were having fun pulling funny faces

We found a place to sit and the kids had a blast posing for pictures for us. We spent a lot of time at this little seating area just taking pictures and talking. It was nice to just be with the family.
Here's Kyler trying to get up on the bench. He had fun getting up and down.

Proud of himself once he got up.

Auntie and Uncle Brian came from Utah to spend Christmas with us.

Happy Thanksgiving

Happy Thanksgiving!
We spent the day with family and dad watching football.
To keep the kids entertained, we painted wood crafts and created fall pictures before we went over to Grandpa and Grandmas house for Turkey dinner.

Happy Halloween

Halloween was crazy this year. I litteraly have never seen so many kids in my neighborhood at one time. It was exactly how it is portrayed in the movies. At one point I walked past my house and saw about 30 kids standing on my front porch waiting to get candy.
My neighbor didn't make matters better by creating a haunted house off of the garage. It brought in swarms of people.
Its funny, Alex is not into the holidays, he could care less about halloween! But I tell you, he totally ditched me and the kids so that he could scare kids in my neighbors haunted house.
It was kind of nice though. He screamed so much that he lost his voice for a couple of days. Here are the goulish girls that walked the neighborhood
My cute little kiddos all dressed up.
We had a Bunny, octopuss, lion, and witch.

Austin is not into costumes. The lion was not what we had originally bought him to wear.
When we went shopping he picked out a skeleton costume, but once we got it home and I tryed it on him he looked down and saw the bones and wanted nothing to do with it. He wanted it off ASAP!
Trying to get him to put on the Lion costume was quite the task. He didnt want to be dressed up.
Once I told him that no one would give him candy unless he was in costume he put it on.

Earlyer in the day the kids carved their pumpkins. It always cracks me up to watch them gut their pumpkins. I love the facial expressions as they try to pull out all the slime.
They really enjoyed themselves this year. They created how they wanted their Jack-O-Lantern to turn out.
