Grocery Game On!!

Okay, so I'll admit that I have had no desire to clip coupons and play the whole grocery game that I hear so many people talking about. I don't have the patience to sit and look at all the different adds for each grocery store, clip all the coupons out of the newspaper, surf the web for printable coupons, and the thing I hate absolute most, hauling all four of my kids to 5 different grocery stores trying to get the best deal.
Well, the other night after the kids had gone to bed, I put a list and coupons together and sent Alex to Albertsons to pick up certain items. He did really well, and didn't deviate from the list. We ended up getting $102.37 worth of grocery for $35.67 that was a savings of $66.70. I thought that was pretty cool.
The following day Alex was home so I hit up Safeway and got the best deal ever I got $101.90 worth of groceries for......... get ready...........$10.35 CRAZY!!!! I saved $91.45 Here's a picture of all that I got.
I was so excited that I hit up Frys later and got $212.13 worth of groceries for $111.13 a savings of $101.00.
I added everything up and we got a total of 416.40 worth of groceries and paid only $157.15 I am now officially a grocery gamer, I can't remember the last time my grocery bill was that low. I can't wait until next weeks adds come out.

Best Cinnimon rolls ever

Yummmmy! Do I need to say more.
I found this recipe awhile ago but have kept holding off making them because they are so time consuming. Well Sunday I decided to give it a whirl and well, I don't mean to toot my own horn, but hands down these were the best Cinnamon rolls I have had in a long time.
They tasted just like the Cinnamon rolls me and my mom use to get at Deerly Impressive boutique up in Utah.
Here's the recipe if anyone wants to taste a little piece of Heaven. Just a heads up, they took about 2 1/2 hours from start to finish to make and I was constantly doing something. There is no way I could have made these if Alex wasn't there taking care of the kids.
But they are so worth the time.
1 can evaporated milk
4 cups hot tap water
1 cup sugar
1 egg
1/2 cup oil
1/2 cup potato flakes
3 Tbs. yeast
2 Tbs. salt
12-13 cups flour
*Mix all ingredients until it pulls away from sides. Then mix for 6 minutes. The let it rest for 10 minutes. Divide dough in half or into thirds, depending on how big of cinnamon rolls you want. Roll out dough onto floured surface. Cover with melted butter. Sprinkle with a cinnamon/sugar mixture. Then sprinkle with brown sugar. Roll up tight and cut with string or floss. Put them on pan and let rise until doubled in size. Bake for 20-25 minutes, depending on how big they are. Frost with buttercream frosting.
Buttercream frosting
2 cubes butter, softened at room temp.
2 boxes powdered sugar
dash of salt
2 tsp. vanilla
enough milk to make it spreadable

Circus Fun

On Saturday we went to the Circus with one of Alex's co-workers family. We have taken the girls every year since Olivia was 2 years old. (Every year except last year because Ky was due the same week.)
This was Austins first time to come along. He had a blast, his eyes were the size of golf balls trying to absorb everything that was going on. He kept copying his big sister Olivia and repeated everything she said WOOOH!!!, AWESOME!!!, COOL!!!
They did a lot of Magic tricks this year which was pretty cool. Hopefully my kids don't try to recreate any of them. Hailey liked the Elephants. She thought it was pretty cool that they would hold each others tails and walk in line.

The tigers were Olivia's favorite part. My favorite part was when they shot 2 ladies out of a cannon. My picture didn't turn out that well on that one:(

Here's a picture of Austin on a cotton candy rush. He was wide awake on the ride home from the days events. You can see Olivia passed out in the back.

Olivia with straight hair

Here's a picture of Olivia with straight hair. It doesn't happen often because it takes so long to do. I needed to give her a hair cut and decided to straighten it out so that I could give her an even cut. Its hard to do when you have to go through a bunch of curls.
It took me an hour and an half to round brush and cut it.
Here's a picture of her after I had straightened it, but had not cut it yet.
I am so jealous of all of her natural body, no back combing, or products to get all this volume.
Here's a picture of her after I had cut it. I kept looking at her all day long thinking she looks so much older. My 6 year old could pass for a 10 year old. Crazy.
I had to take a picture of the back. This kiddo has so much hair and it also showed all of the beautiful natural highlights. Gorgeous!

Kylers 1st Birthday

Happy 1st Birthday Ky!
I can't believe it was a year ago today we were racing to the Hospital hoping and praying that I didn't give birth in the car.
I have to say Kylers birth was the most memorable and the most painful ( No time for drugs, I really don't recommend it.)
Kyler came into this world with a bang. Literaly, I think the doctor caught my placenta on her head.
He arrived on June 4th at 8:40 am weighing 7 lbs and 20 1/2 inches long

Kyler is such a sweet little boy! I am so privileged to be his mom.
He definitely completes our family
Some fun little facts about our little man:
1. He is the only one of our kids to have straight hair.
2. He only has two teeth so far.
3. He gives the best hugs when he gets out of bed in the morning.
4. LOVES, LOVES, LOVES to dance.
5. Would eat cheetos for breakfast, lunch and dinner if I let him.

Just getting started on his Birthday cake.
This is the end result. It looks like he really enjoyed his cakeHappy Birthday Kyler! We Love you so much.
