Makutu's Island

This was our last playgroup outing before school starts. We ended up at Makutu's Island. We went to this place last summer and my girls have talked about it since then. So they were pretty excited when they found out we were going again.
Its a pretty cool place, once you let your kids loose don't plan on seeing them for awhile. My kids enjoyed the tree house with the zip line most.
Us moms spent most of our time in the little kiddie area with the little ones. Ky was pretty daring and started climbing up the ramp and then sliding down the little slide all on his own.
Ky proud of his new trick!
This is Austin and Wrigley with there cheese faces. They were making some cute little poses but my camera is on the slow side and I missed most of them.
Here's the girls and Porter in one of the towers. I got pictures of them going on the zip line but they all came out dark:(

Family Home Evening

Thanks to the Dababneh family for letting us join you for family home evening. We went to the visitors center and saw the Joseph Smith Movie. We were all under the impression it was a
15 minute show that ended up being an hour and 15 minutes..... Not the best show to be showing 8 children all under the age of 7. But..... Olivia who I fight with when it comes to church was really receptive to the film and was full of questions afterward so I took it as a good teaching moment.
Afterwards we went out for some yummy ice cream. We had a good time. Our cute little Families! Its funny how all of our kids are about the exact same age.
Olivia had mosquito bites all over her legs, so she was having a hard time putting on a smile. This is what we got when we told her to fake it.
This is how all of our family pictures seem to turn out!!!!

Totally Wicked

What a fun girls night!!!! a group of us went to see Wicked.
We first started the night off at The Cheesecake Factory and had some yummy food. But everyone knows you can't leave without a piece of Cheesecake. We were running a little late so we all got our Cheesecake to go. We consealed it in purses and figured we would eat it during the play.
When we got to the Play everyone was seated and the play had begun, it was fine because we hadn't missed much, but our seats were 1st row balcony, dead center. There were 10 of us trying to climb over the top of about 25 people to get to our seats. I was praying at the same time I didn't trip because it was a long way down and not much of a rail to keep me from going over. It was great once we were seated. What a fun play.
At intermission when the lights went on, we busted out our cheesecakes to devour them. I was hoping I wouldn't make eye contact with anyone I had climbed over earlier.
It was a great play.... I would totally see it again. We had such a fun night. I haven't laughed so much.

It comes in threes, Right?

Where oh where to begin. Alexs' cancer decided to come back, He went in on Tuesday to get his Radiation treatment and everything went well. Its always kind of freaky when the doctor quarantines him in this little room about the size of a coat closet and then brings out this big egg shaped metal container that contains his two little pills and dumps them into Alexs' hand (because the doctor doesn't even want to touch them) and then watches as Alex swallows them.
He then was Quarantine in our house for a week. Me and the kids spent the week at my parents house.
The following Tuesday Alex went in for an X-Ray. The Radiation he took would gravitate towards the cancer cells and would lite up on the X-Ray. The results of his X-ray was there still is little spot that lit up in his neck, but had not spread to Lymph nodes or any place else. They are hoping that this session of Radiation will kill off those cancer cells. If not he may have to do a third session of Radiation or they might have to just cut it out, just depending on how much it shrinks.
On the Friday before Alexs' Radiation Treatment we found out his Grandma in Jamaica had passed away. And on the Tuesday of his X-Ray my Great Grandma passed away. So we hope all the bad news ends there.

Olivia Insisted

Olivia cracks me up! She thinks when anything remotely funny happens at our house we need to blog about it. Olivia even went as far as to take this picture of Kyler to co-inside with the story that she thinks we need to blog about....so this post goes out to you Olivia.
I told the kids they could have a piece of gum after they had finished eating lunch. The girls had gotten theirs and Austin was trying to get his piece. He walked over to me with a big wad of gum in his mouth and said "Ky Ky gum". I asked him"Did you give your brother a piece of gum?" I hadn't even had a chance to react before Olivia was to her feet in ten seconds flat. Being the second mommy in the house, she immediately started swiping the gum out of Ky's mouth with him clenching his teeth and screaming.
Olivia was hollering at me"TAKE CARE OF YOUR SON" because I was just sitting there laughing at the scene. I told her to just leave him alone and that one piece of gum wouldn't hurt him if he swallowed it.
I tell you, Olivia will make a great babysitter one day. It amazes me with the things that come out of her mouth, she's like a mini mom.

Power Washer Dangers

EEEEWWWWW......... We have been invaded by gross, disgusting, creepy, eight legged black widows this year. We have never had a problem with them in the past, but have been over run with them this year. So in our attempt to eliminate as many of these creepy crawlers as possible we cleaned off our back patio and cleared up as much as we could in our half finished back yard.

Now here's where I get to the power washer danger part...... All the kids were in the back yard playing around as Alex and I cleaned, I was in charge of power washing and was excited with my new task, I had never used one before and was oblivious to the fact that water could actually be dangerous. As I was washing Austin caught my attention, I Put the hose thingy down to my side with the water still running and immediately felt a sharp pain on my toe, I looked down and saw nothing but blood. For a split second I thought the water blasted my little piggy off. After confirming my toe was still attached, I washed it off and doctored my big gash, it then swelled up and has been aching the last couple of days. I think the power washer broke my toe. Who knew.

I thought I would spare everyone a picture of my grimy toes. But I promise its ugly.
