Relay Night

As most of you all know my wonderful friend Rashelle was diagnosed with Non Hodgkin's Lymphoma back in November 2008 and has been in a fight for her life since then. After having surgery to have a mass removed around her heart and lungs she went right into six rounds of Chemotherapy and now Radiation treatments to come.
Our fabulous friend Marie put together our Relay team to raise money for Cancer research in Rashelles honor.
Here are a few pictures of Fridays Relay festivities.
To kick off the night they started with a survivor lap. All survivors of this horrible disease made the first lap and then their loved ones met them half way.
Alex was able to walk along side with Rashelle because he too is a cancer survivor.
I love this picture of Rashelle! Even though she had a fever and wasn't feeling good she can still be a goof ball.
Some of the goof balls I had the pleasure of spending the night with!
Here was our group! We were the highest fundraising team. One of the things we did to raise money was sell the shirts we were all wearing. They were designed by Rashelle.
It was a fun evening that included an Elvis impersonator, live band, Hypnotist, lots of music, dancing, eating, playing games laughing and spending time with friends. the relay ran from Friday 6pm to Saturday 6am. I didn't stay the whole night, I took off at about 1:30 am. About 10 of the girls stuck it through the entire night.
We can still make donations up until August so if anyone is interested in making a donation to the American Cancer Society in Rashelles Honor leave me a your e-mail address in the comment area and I will get in touch with you regarding this.
I hope this post made sense. Its really late and I'm super tired so sorry!

Why do I Jinx myself?

So..... I'm already complaining about how hot it is already.
And how I refuse to turn on the air conditioning because I'm not looking forward to those $500.00 a month power bills yet. Well today I thought I was going to die. My make up literally melted off of my face! I couldn't take the heat anymore and caved, I turned on the air conditioning and nothing happened.
YEP! Its broken!
So this is a warning to all of my neighbors, don't look through my windows because I'm going to be walking around in my under wear until its fixed. Oh, but I will have make up on.

BLAH!!!! ITS HOT!!!!

Oh my gosh its hot and its only April. My girls came home from school today and were dying of the heat so I sent them outside with some friends to have a water fight to cool off. They had a blast and cooled down enough because I refuse to turn on the air conditioning.
I just saw the weather and we have our first 100 degree day tomorrow. UGH! I miss our pool. I didn't realize how bad our tree was leaning until I saw this picture.
Poor Ozzy, he wanted to join the water fight. But he got sprayed once and he was done.

Happy Easter

The Easter Bunny found our house.
We had a pretty relaxing Easter. The kids were up around 7:00 and immediately we were on the hunt for Candy filled Easter eggs and baskets. Every year the Easter Bunny hides there Baskets and the kiddos have to search for them. Olivia usually spots out everyone Else's basket before the younger kids get a chance. We are going to have to make sure the Easter Bunny hides hers in a really hard place next year just to torment her.

Austin didn't find to many Easter eggs. He found his first one and was content with the candy inside that he sat down and started eating. He pretty much was on a sugar high before 8:00 in the morning. We let them just enjoy, your only a kid once!

Ky was on a plastic egg hunt. He liked the way they sounded when he tapped them together.

After everything had settled down and we had a good nutritious breakfast of scrambled eggs and sausage. Olivia did her most favorite thing to do on Sundays. She went out and got the news paper so she could read the comics!

Rain, Rain, Go Away!

Saturday was our wards Easter breakfast. The kids were so looking forward to the Easter egg hunt but it rained all morning long and we had to forgo the hunt. Needless to say the kids were tired, wet, and disappointed.
Alex and I are on the activities committee so he stayed to help and I took the kids home. When we got home the girls ran upstairs and put there pajamas back on and sat by the fire place to warm up. It came in handy that day. I think the only other time we had used it was Christmas Morning. Cute Ky all bundled up for the cold rainy morning!
After everyone had warmed up, the girls wanted me to hide the Easter eggs that they didn't get a chance to find at the breakfast. And then afterwards we colored Easter eggs.
This is the first time Austin has colored eggs and he was pretty proud of his colored creations.

Olivia coloring as many eggs as she can at one time.

And then we have Hailey.......... She just wanted to finish coloring eggs as fast as she could so that she could eat them. Her eggs weren't even finished drying before she ripped into them. She loves hard boiled eggs.

A Visit from Grandma

Alex's mom came for a visit. It was her first time seeing Ky. She lives in New York so we don't get to see her very often. It was nice having her around and the kids loved playing with her. She kept commenting how loud it would get in our house. It cracked me up, I guess I'm just use to all of the commotion
While she was here the kids wanted to take her to the zoo, and being the fabulous New Yorker grandma she is, she agreed to going even though animals are not her most favorite thing. While we were looking at the Elephants Olivia made an announcement that a squirrel was standing next to grandma, when Alex's mom heard that she started screaming at the top of her lungs and bolted the other direction. I'm just glad my kids weren't standing if front of her or else she would have flattened them like a pancake. She didn't care who was in her way, she was out of there. Alex and I were laughing so hard at the scene she created I almost peed my pants.
